Hands down Nikon D3100, it's ease of use, beautiful pictures, 1080HD video, the list goes on and I found the price to be better for a excellent quality camera. I was looking at the Canon and just didn't like the feel or how it was all laid out. The Nikon lenses have auto VR Image Stabilization with the ability to shut it off, auto and manual focus. I think just a better camera for your money.
