The Nikon D3400 DSLR camera does not have a built-in focus motor. For lenses that autofocus on the D3400 look for lenses with AF-S, AF-P and E stamp on the barrel. Nikon AI and AF-type lenses can also be used but must be focused manually. The lenses listed with this D3400 DSLR kit are both AF-P type lenses and will autofocus with this camera.
