Good Beginner Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me preface this review with this is my first DSLR camera. I've only ever used point and shoot cameras before. I bought this camera for use during an upcoming Yellowstone Vacation. Since I am not a photographer and don't know anything about SLR cameras I used only settings I was familiar with from my point and shoot cameras. Using only the auto, scenery, action and macro settings I was able to take some amazing photographs. I found that using the 70-300mm lense I was able to get some amazing closeups of the animals at the park. The 18-55mm gave me some amazing shots of the scenery. I found myself wishing I had a telephoto lense that had a wider field of focus than the 70-300mm. Oh well. That's an opportunity for an upgrade :-). While swapping out lenses all the time was kind of a pain, my husband was very patient while he acted as my grip. All in all the camera delivered with ease of use for a newbie like me and performance with some beautiful photos.

Exceptional camera! More than expected!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this camera. You can’t beat the image quality for the price. I initially bought the camera and it would just lay around in it’s case because I never had time to shoot until recently when I finally started to carve out a bit of time to shoot and realized just how amazing the camera works when used correctly. Safe to say I shoot pretty often now. I recommend getting a good reflector and learn a bit about light and the camera modes and have some fun. I do plan to buy an autofocus lens for an even better quality, but I love the 300mm for portrait photos and that natural bokeh effect just comes out breathtaking.

Fabulous
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read many reviews on DSLR cameras before purchasing. I decided to go with this one as most of the viewers said the instructions were clear, the photos crisp etc. I am in love to say the least. So user friendly and the photos are amazing! Highly recommend.

Great little camera package
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have long done both film and digital photography, but for a starter kit, THIS Nikon 3400 is simply aces. Yes, there are cameras with more bells and whistles, but this one meets just about every need I can think of that I might need. Sharp Nikon glass, good autofocus and smooth performing zoom lenses. I could not be happier with this purchase

Thrilled!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a "CanonPhile" for many years, getting into friendly debates with my Nikon friends. But it is like the Apple/Android battle; they are both good products. Well, I took a chance (and advantage of a gift card and a great sale) to buy this Nikon camera from Best Buy. Don't hate me, Canon fans, but I LOVE it. As CEO of a public relations, I use photography a lot. It is easier to use than I had envisioned and the fact that my photos show up instantly on my iPhone has saved me a lot of time and aggravation!

My first real camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of countless point and shoot digitals and smartphone cameras I finally took a leap and bought my first DSLR. While it may look intimidating at first glance I have found it extremely easy to use and takes great pictures. I was finally able to get those great actions shots of my daughters softball game I always missed with the others. Great pictures-easy to use-GREAT CAMERA

Top Notch Camera Gear
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know I purchased top notch camera gear, when I chose the Nikon D3400. I was even able to stay within the parameters of my budget! I am assured of this camera system's quality and excellent price, after having done extensive research on the internet. My little poodle, Caleb, was an obliging subject for me to practice on indoors. I will be going out, in about a month, to try my camera and lenses outdoors in nature. I am expecting to see great results outdoors as well!

Excellent size and weight for trips!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I just got back from a two week vacation in the state of Washington. Since we both love to take pictures of our travels, we bought a D3400 Kit for each of us! The pictures are excellent, the weight of the camera and lenses in cases were fairly light, and of course the price for the kit was very reasonable! After just a month of use, we are very satisfied customers of the D3400!!!

Q: QuestionI am a beginner.I want to purchase either D3300 or D3400 as my first DSLR,the feature look almost same. So can you suggest any major advantage that I will have as a beginner if I go for D3400?D3400 doesn't have headphone socket,so how is the audio quality
Asked by D3300vsD3400.
- A:Answer The Nikon D3300 and Nikon D3400 are both good choices for beginners as each's offers an on-camera guide mode. This mode actually teaches you how to take a great image and will let you know what options are best for each subject. An advantage that the Nikon D3400 has over the D3300 is that it offers Bluetooth connectivity to any compatible smart device running the Snapbridge app, so images can transferred effortlessly. The D3300 has WiFi but needs an optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter accessory to transfer images to a compatible smart device. Both these cameras offer 11 autofocus points and 5 frames per second for continuous shooting as well as a built-in monaural microphone with adjustable sensitivity for perfect audio quality. If you want to learn more about the differences between these two cameras please contact Nikon Support.

Q: QuestionI have never had a camera of this type and wanting to purchase one i can use to shoot wildlife photos...deer, birds, etc. Would this be a good choice for a beginner with no experience. Im not wanting to spend a ton of money either.
Asked by labmom.
- A:Answer The Nikon D3400 DSLR camera has a variety of options to help the user get amazing images effortlessly and is designed with beginner DSLR photographers in mind. One helpful option on this camera is Guide Mode. This mode helps you choose from the most frequently-used and useful functions to get a great image with automated help from the camera. It also provides you with more advanced choices so, once you are more familiar with the settings, you can try out different features. Another is to place it in Auto Mode (green camera icon). This mode will allow the camera to automatically analyze the subject and select the appropriate shooting mode when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway down. The available scenes that this mode chooses from are Portrait, Landscape, Close up, Night Portrait, Auto, and Auto (flash off). Along with these two modes are many others that can be utilized once you are more familiar with the camera. This camera comes with two zoom lenses so you can get sharp and vibrant images of wildlife from afar. To learn more about what this camera can do, please contact Nikon Support.

Q: QuestionShould I get the zoom lens or a prime lens? Which is better ??
Asked by John.
- A:Answer This Nikon D3400 DSLR camera comes with two zoom AF-P type lenses. The AF-P DX 18-55mm G VR lens and the AF-P DX 70-300mm G ED lens each offer beautiful clarity and sharp precision, even in low-light situations. The 18-55mm is ideal for wide-angle shots, portraits and fast action while the 70-300 super-telephoto zoom lens is perfect for sports, wildlife and landmarks. Either of these two lenses can be used to provide brilliant images. A prime lens is also a great idea to add to any growing camera case. A great starter prime lens to add to this D3400 two-lens kit would be the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Standard lens. The 35mm provides portraits with softly blurred backgrounds and excellent low-light performance.

Q: QuestionI am looking for a camera to take some photos of my boys while playing sports. We are inside and out with them playing soccer, football and basketball. Would this camera be a good purchase?
Asked by Sports.
- A:Answer The Nikon D3400 DSLR camera is great for taking images of your children playing sports. There are many options for getting awesome action images with this camera. One easy way to get beautifully sharp outdoor sports images is to place the camera in Sports Mode. Sports Mode has settings that are pre-adjusted; all the user has to do is simply place it in mode, then point and shoot. This mode is easily accessed by using the mode dial on top of the camera. Inside sports require that you change some of the settings, as there may be a variety of different lighting situations that can affect the images overall, but this camera is very user friendly and provides amazing images when settings are adjusted correctly.
