How important is a touch screen? I am buying a used Nikon D5300 that's only been used twice.. one lens the 18-55VRII 3.5-5.6G buying this as my first camera for $250 Worth it?

Please try again later.While there are a some differences between these two camera bodies, the major difference between them is that the Nikon D5500 has a touch screen; the Nikon D5300 does not. Both offer the same 39 points of focus, 24.2 million effective megapixels and get up to 5 frames per second in continuous shooting. The D5500 is slightly lighter in weight than the D5300 making it a bit more portable than the D5300. One thing the D5300 has the the D5500 does not is built-in GPS; the D5500 needs the optional GP-A GPS Unit to access GPS options on the camera.
