“For how long can you record HD video? 30, 45 60 minutes? We will use a large capacity memory card. I intend to use on a tripod to record lectures and presentation. Just curious if this model would do the job. Thank you.”

Its definitely less than 30 mins, as it is classified as a stills camera. The modes I have tried were 20 mins and 10 mins limitations, so it depends.

Depending on the memory card's write speed, shooting may end before this length is reached. Memory cards with an SD Speed Class rating of 6 or higher are recommended when recording movies.
