They print a code on your receipt. You redeem the code in the eShop and it gives you 12 months Nintendo Switch Online

No, you can earn "coins" for registering purchased games, which can used towards future purchases, but nothing significant. I've bought maybe 14 games and I've earned $5 total to spend online, so nothing big.
