The arms are connected to the main unit and folded straight down. When setting up they just fold up and each one gets a bolt. The legs are not attached at all. They get put on with 4 bolts a piece. They are super heavy and take some finessing to line up and attach to body. It was easy to move down into my basement. Had no problems.

We recommend not unboxing the machine until it is placed in the area you wish to assemble. This should simplify moving the machine. Let us know if we can offer further assistance with this machine by emailing us at [email protected]. Thanks- NordicTrack

The legs are separate. You'll likely need to unbox and take downstairs in the few separate pieces, but should be easily maneuverable as long as you have the manpower. I was able to bring everything downstairs without issue. If memory serves, I put the pillar on its back and let gravity help bring it down my carpeted stairs. Note - all components of this beast weigh about 400lbs in total, so bring help.
