I wasn't asked to put in bank details right away. A few days into my service I was asked for my bank details, so I could renew my subscription without any lapse and coverage. Also shortly after installation the add on service pop ups became a nuisance, if you decide to add any of those you will be asked to type in your bank details.

Hi Sathya - Your review is a bit unclear, so I'll try to cover all possible interpretations. Not sure what "patch the code" means, but will assume you mean after installation? There are a couple instances where Norton would possibly request "bank details": (1) To activate any Norton subscription we request a renewal payment method (credit/debit card, PayPal or GooglePay) that would be used for the convenience of auto-renewal. Although required for activation, it can immediately be cancelled after your license goes active. (2) The only other thing I can think of is our request (not required) for Dark Web Monitoring of information of your choosing. We will watch for the improper display (or sale) of any banking or credit card information you provide (again, at your option). Finally, if you are being asked for banking information in any OTHER way than these two, *please* contact us at support.norton.com. It is concerning because you may have engaged with a scammer site posing as Norton (our name is so well-respected that bad guys will attempt this). Our support organization will help clear up any other questions you may have - I hope this helps? - DWN
