Depends on which i7 you have. There are numerous models of i7 cpu's. Saying you have an i7 cpu is like saying I have a 2014 car but not telling you the make and model. Look up system info on your pc and look for what model i7 processor you have and then maybe this question can be answered. Second question....as far as i know there are no 240hz 4k monitors for consumer purchase. Every 4k monitor i see has at most 144hz, and they're a minimum of 800$. They are just now starting to release 1440p 240hz monitors, and i've only seen 2 so far. An HP Omen and a Samsung version. You're going to need at minimum an 8 core/16 thread cpu to keep from bottlenecking this gpu in my opinion. Anything lower isnt worth it for me. For intel that means you need either an i9 9900k, i7 10700k, or i9 10900k. For AMD that means a Ryzen 7 series at least. Idk if this helps you a ton but i answered what i could.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you like Intel chips and want to upgrade your rig, wait till Spring (March 2021 is what I'm seeing) when Intel releases their 11th gen "Rocket Lake" CPUs with PCIE 4.0 support. 10th gen and previous only support PCIE 3.0 (or lower). AMD's current lineup supports PCIE 4.0, but do your homework to make sure you're getting the right CPU/chipset/mobo combo. As for the monitor, any good search engine can help you there.
