The 3090 was made for enthusiasts who crave the best of the best, even if the price/performance ratio is unjustified. To say the 3090 founders edition is huge is an understatement. You can't know how big this card truly is until you see and hold it in person. Assuming you have the funds (and case clearance) I totally recommend pulling the trigger if you manage to find one in stock. As for as performance, it is obviously a beast. I paired this with an i9 10900k. I play everything at 4K 120hz on my new OLED LG CX48. The HDMI 2.1 connectivity is amazing and allows for 4K, 120fps, gsync, and HDR all at once. From playing many different games (old and recent) at max settings at 4K I can tell you that 10GB (what the 3080 has) won't always cut it in all scenarios. Many recent games, especially those that don't feature DLSS, use 10+GB with everything maxed at 4K 12Ohz. It is a very good feeling to know that I'll be sitting pretty for quite some time with a hefty 24GB of vram. I'm even playing around with scaling 4K to 200% to simulate 8K gaming and I have maxed the vram out in quite a few titles. It's fun. I've got to mention the awesome build quality too. Each of the 30 series founders cards are both beautiful and functional with their striking new design. My temps typically stay in the low to mid 70s with the 3090's flow through design and the sound is actually less noticeable than my old 2080ti XC ultra. Even if AMD's upcoming 6900xt ends up outperforming the 3090 (which I doubt), I'm still partial to Nvidia's rtx, gsync, and dlss tech since they pioneered all of it.

Needless to say, this card is an absolute BEAST! I was finally able to get one at the beginning of this year from Best Buy. I was originally going to try and purchase a 3080, but had absolutely zero luck for months. When I saw this in stock on January 5th though, I decided to take the plunge and haven't looked back. I've had it for a few months now and thought it was about time to review. PROS: -This thing rips and tears through every game I've tried to play so far at 4k resolution and beyond, frequently going well beyond 100 fps even at that resolution. I play MSFS 2020 often and even in heavily intense areas it still manage to get over 50 fps at 4k with everything maxed out, which is far more than enough for this sim. Other games like GTA V and even RDR2 feel like a joke at this point, but I'm not complaining. I literally ran Forza Horizon 4 at 8k and recorded it with zero issues and stuck at 60 fps pretty much the whole time. Absolutely insane... -Ray Tracing is definitely way faster and far more mature in this generation compared to before. It is finally justifiable to turn on RTX and not have to worry about losing all my frames. -Rendering some random stuff out in Blender is much faster than it used to be and allows me to tinker more, although I don't use Blender too much. -It stays cool and quiet for the most part (see cons), only reaching a maximum of 65°C on the core under full load, with plenty of room to spare for overclocking. -The build quality is fantastic. Everything from the backplate to the shroud and even the fans are made of metal and it's very heavy, which gives the product as a whole a very premium look and feel to it that you rarely see on any other GPUs out there. The I/O bracket is very strong as well and this card has absolutely zero sagging issues despite its immense weight. -Much easier to disassemble than most previous Founders Edition GPUs. CONS: -The memory on this card gets HOT! The stock thermal pads can't handle the memory on this card at all. I was frequently hitting temps in excess of 105°C and have seen 110°C before. Now, I say "was" because I have recently replaced the stock thermal pads (between the memory and backplate) with some much better ones from Thermalright (image attached). After the mod, my memory temps have dropped an average of 10-15°C! Even the core got a bit cooler too! Now, the memory usually runs in the mid 90s and hasn't touched 100° since I replaced the pads, even with a +1000MHz memory overclock and increased power limits. I highly recommend doing this mod for yourself should you buy this card. -Lots of electrical noise out of the box, particularly coil whine. This has gotten a good bit quieter after a few months of use, but it's still present and noticeable. Not too big of a deal though, since I usually have headphones on. -The included dual 8 to 12pin adapter is very bulky and pretty ugly in my opinion (see images). -RGB isn't that easy to control, and it is not diffused too well in the V-shaped RGB section behind the passthrough fan.

First, I need to give props to Best Buy: Thank you for keeping these at MSRP price, we truly appreciate this as GAMERS. Secondly, this is perhaps the most exciting GPU for me in the last couple of years I have been building gaming RIGS. Can't say I have ever camped outside a Best Buy the night before for ANYTHING! Not even for a Black Friday sale! But for this BFG, my only viable option was to camp the night before an inventory drop as paying 100% over MSRP is just plain ridiculous. On games: I play Call of Duty and Battlefield at 1440p, on 35 inch ultra-wide screens. This card is off the charts on performance, FPS and gaming experience. I've never experienced this performance before. Truthfully, you can experience great gaming on a 3080 or 3080 TI too, however, that would be boring and with this, you get an extra 5-10% on performance. EVERYTHING is just SMOOTHER, CLEANER, NO DRAMA in my opinion and experience so far. Pros: - 1440p gaming is smooth - 170+ FPS - 24 GB memory (great for multi-tasking, rendering etc.) - Low to Mid GPU temperatures - Easy to overclock - Best Buy sells these at MSRP - Size Cons: - Inventory (of course) - Size (for those with small Cases) - Power hungry (don't use a 750 W psu on this, 850 W is just barely enough, I highly recommend a 1,000 W PSU) My machine: => CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X => CPU Cooler: 140mm Enermax Aquafusion white edition => Mobo: ASUS Tuf Gaming x570 Plus => Case: NZXT H510i Elite white case => GPU: Nvidia RTX 3090 FE (BFG) => RAM: 32 GB Dominator Platinum RGB @ 3800 MHz => SSD: M.2 2280 1TB drive => PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-1000W PSU => Mouse: Steel series Rival 600 mouse => Monitors: Viotek Ultrawide 35-inch, Asus Tuf Gaming 32-inch => Headset: SteelSeries - Arctis 7 Wireless DTS Gaming

Not A Titan, but Big Upgrade

Upgraded from a 1080Ti. I was struggling to maintain 1440p 144hz in certain titles and felt impressed with the performance from the 3080 and 3090. Why 3090? I picked the 3090 since I tend to upgrade every other generation and I felt that the 3080 was not a good option for that due to it only having 10gb of VRAM. I’ve been enjoying +80% gains in some titles as well had the option to let the cards massive vram limit stretch its legs with heavily modded games. Design & Size. The card is pretty massive compared to my older MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X. I would 100% check the dimensions of your case to ensure that it will fit. The card takes 3 slots meaning it is highly likely that one of your 1x slots might get covered. 350w Oh My! At stock this card draws a large amount of power. Although the cooler is impressive it struggles when pushing it above 350w. I would highly recommend undervolting due to the impressive performance gains and power saving it provides. If you don’t know how to overclock & undervolt I would heavily recommend looking at a guide how to.

    Absolute Monster Of A Card

I got this card on launch because I wasn’t able to get a 3080 but so far I haven’t regretted my purchase. This thing is massive, almost comically huge. Temps stay around 68c playing Valhalla 4k@120hz maxed out. Cyberpunk 2077 runs like a dream and I’m happy I was able to experience this game at its full potential. My only gripe is that my card has some leftover molding on the fins behind the fan that I had to removed but it pulled off with tweezers. I only docked quality for this reason. So far the card runs very quiet aside from some coil whine, which most GPU’s have. I paired this with a 48” LG CX and ever since they resolved the gsync issues it’s been an absolute dream to play on. This card is costly and to be 100% honest you’d probably get enough out of a 3080 but they simply aren’t in stock at the moment so I’d much rather pay more for a 3090 than contribute to scalpers on a 3080 at the same cost. Either way I’m happy with my purchase so far and it’s nice having the extra headroom for cooling. I added a photo of an EVGA 3090 XC3 next to this thing to show how huge it is.

Amazing graphics card. Insanely powerful at both games and workloads. Definitely the card for the "money is no object" gamer. Mine overclocks well and easily achieves 60fps+ in the superposition 8k optimized benchmark all while the cooler has the capability to keep the card lower than 58c at all times, with custom fan curves. Achieved 22000 graphics score in timespy. At maximum power load the card will draw so much power as to audibly slow the fans down when near 100% fan speed. Maximum draw from the wall that I've witnessed while stressing GPU and CPU simultaneously was 705 watts. This card is without a doubt the heaviest graphics card I've ever seen. At the same time GPU sag is nonexistent. The card is so rigid that 3 screws for the 3 slots the card occupies holds it rigid and straight. My case (H500M) has built in graphic card support that is useless with this card. Adjusting it to touch the bottom of the card, it has none of the cards weight resting on it. Excuse the attached picture's RGB, I had just broken my lighting scheme (all red) before installing the card.

Absolutely amazing card. Do not waist your time with the 3080 ti (way over priced). I’m running this on a 48” lg oled and it runs everything at 120 fps (tv max frame rate). The build quality is the best I have ever seen with a gpu. The card is a beast… HUGE! Get a gpu bracket/support bracket for added long term security and pease of mind. Having this said, there was no sag when I installed this card. Shocking since my 1070 and 1080 both sagged. Got to the store at 5am to pick up this card. I was happy to see they passed out tickets per card. Therefore, I knew before getting in side the store the card I wanted was available.

After a huge battle for months, finally was able to snag one from BBuy. Biggest problem was not to add a card to the cart, but next step when you try to purchase- you keep getting "not available for your store", "why"? (God only knows)... This one, I got extremely lucky. Someone gave me a link to purchase on social media on jan 5th drop and I tried it without hope and it went through! Don't ask me why regular process didn't work and why this link worked...but I got it anyways...thank you God and BBuy. Now, lets talk about the price - yes its 1500$/-, for most gaming, 3080 is best performance for price, however, for any 8K video rendering, for resize bard support coming in Feb, for other programs (outside games), having more VRam for me was worth it. 2080TI was 1200$/- and this is 1500/- for titan class card. really, its expensive but it depends on the perspective you look at. Now I don't have to worry about potential 3080TI which might or might not come ever... who knows. For performance, I get 15% more FPS on 1440p and in some games over 18% easy. With more coda cores and more VRam, games those will come out in future, will run better if it needs more VRam (like Flight Sim). if 3080 did have 16GB, it would have been the BEST no doubt. the card runs quiet and cool. Its massive (in size) when you unbox it. Takes time to get over the size for couple of hours or days :). It only uses two 8PIN for power and 12Pin to connect. I love the 12 pin connector. The new design works perfectly for me as it works like a blower style to remove heat from back of the card, in addition to the blowing any warmer air using back fan of the case. The build quality is nothing I have ever seen. all metal design. Logo RGB can be controlled using iCue. Default is neutral white. It looks amazing in the case. Who is this for? If you can afford it, get it. There are anything we waster $$$ one. Compromise somewhere else to make up for difference if you are very picky about cost. Highly recommend this over the AIB just for the design, build and aesthetics alone. I am more of design and aesthetics than a few more FPS at the cost of higher dB and boring three fan design.

This was a huge upgrade for me coming from a 1080 FTW card. I originally was targeting a 3080, but the stock has been so limited and I had not been able to get one. I finally broke down and went with this card since Best Buy seems to be the only remaining retailer not going with higher prices, created ridiculous bundles, or establishing a stupid lottery. I give Best Buy big props for the way they have been handling the high demand products! This card has been amazing so far. Again...it is a giant leap from a 1080, but I have not had any struggle with the card so far. The card is very large and heavy, so be prepared. The card is so wonderfully built, however, I have not been experiencing any card sag in my system. I am very happy with my purchase! The only two negatives for me are the fact that the GEFORCE RTX LEDs on the card are only white. I am thankful they didn't make them green, but my system is set to a blue theme, so it would have been nice to set this to blue as well. The other interesting note is that the LEDs on the top of the card (forms a V) can actually have different colors set. I was able to set that to blue using the Corsair iCue software. It is very interesting that the other LED's are not RGB. I also wish that 3090 would have been included with the GEFORCE RTX. My only other complaint is the way they handled the power. I am thankful that they included the splitter cable, but it is always frustrating when a company uses a proprietary connection. The splitter really makes the cabling a mess. For someone who takes pride in how "clean" the computer looks, this was something I could not handle. I was able to find a cable from Corsair that actually has the proprietary 12 pin connection on one end, and then splits into the two connectors that connect to the power supply. This is a much better solution!

Aside from the obvious availability issues plaguing this generation, the RTX 3090 is everything I could ask for in a GPU. Loads of VRAM for TensorFlow and potentially next-gen games, 10496 Cuda cores and 82 RT cores chew through everything I throw at them, whether it be CyberPunk or Control. While Nvidia didn't explicitly market the 3090 as a successor to the 2080 Ti, it's obviously not truly a Titan card (lacking the certified drivers), which places it in a weird spot as far as gaming goes (double the price of the 3080 but only 15% better on average). Physically, the card is about the same size as the 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming I had previously, and performance is only about 10-15% better on average. Still, if you need the 24GB of VRAM and the beefier cooler, and can swallow the steep price, you won't be disappointed with this card. Running on my Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor, Cyberpunk and Control both hover around 70-80 FPS with all settings on Ultra using Ray Tracing and DLSS. The card stays around 67-68 Celsius and is barely audible, which is a welcome improvement over previous generations of Founders Edition cards. Still, I would highly recommend an undervolt for daily use. I'm able to maintain clock speeds of 1920MHz at 837mV and the power usage stays around 350-370 watts in Control, and 250-270 watts in AC Valhalla. Overall, very satisfied with this card, and can't wait to get a waterblock on it and see how far it can be pushed.

So what can we say about the top of the line 3090. I got lucky to grab one of these through Best Buy. Even the guy who brought it out to me at the store asked how I managed to snag one. First of all it is a HUGE heavy card. Make sure it will fit in your case. I also added a support beam under the card. I wasn't seeing any sag before I added the support but I wanted to prevent any in the future. I'm not pushing it terribly hard yet as I'm getting back in to gaming. I do run FlightSim 2020 and I maxed all the settings and average around 50 fps. I think at that point the game only using a few CPUs is limiting the frames. The card at that point is running around 62c in temp and its pumping out some serious heat so make sure you have good cooling in your case. I do like that for one of the card fans it exhausts out the back of the card. The fan towards the front does exhaust upwards towards the CPU but I'm running a AIO for the CPU so its ok. So far impressed with the card. Glad I got it for retail. Its still expensive but it should future proof me for a few years.

Powerful! I've had it for 3 weeks and this thing stayed cool and was able to run everything maxed out. No issues with drivers as I switched from rtx2070. The only bad side was it really was super huge. I had to take out two of my hard drives to fit it into my case and it's already a full size. Two 8 pin power cables was all I needed so a little bit better than some of the other cards that required 3. I do wish I had gotten a rtx3080 instead since only thing I've done so far was gaming. After buying it, I had a bit of buyer's remorse for the price that I paid but that's what happens when you want the best of the best.

It isn't cheap, and it's hard to get. But it really transforms your experience especially in my case when I was upgrading from a GTX 780. I bought this to run Flight Simulator 2020, and it runs very well, keeping above 30 FPS on ultra settings. Everything else runs at 60FPS or more if your framerate is unlocked in the game. It's a beast of a card, but beware that you need a powerful PSU to handle the power consumption spikes (I use an EVGA 1000W) and you definitely need space in your case, as this monster takes up 3 slots and it's very wide. Fantastic card, but very expensive and hard to find. If you're not into super demanding games like Flight Simulator, a 3080 is a better value for you, and the RX 6080XT and RX 6090XT are great options as well.

Best 3090 you can buy, the lower price is just a bonus. I purchased this card from BB and picked up a 3090 Asus ROG Strix off Amazon for me and the wife's gaming/VR PC's. Just dabble into mining while not gaming or using our PC's and the founders edition gpu and vram temps are way cooler gets better hashrate at lower watts in a more airflow constricted case. No difference in gaming performance. Fairly disappointed in the strix card at $600 more. Too expensive for sure, but I prefer a Suburban over a minivan any day, and Suburbans are not worth it either...

It may not be the best bang for the buck, but this thing is a beast. Make sure your case has plenty of space as it is HUGE, or water cool. Initially only wanted a 3080, but right now you have to take what you can actually buy and I'd rather pay retail for this than 2x retail for a 3080. This shipped quickly but I had to wait 2 weeks for the water block to be in stock as well as everything to do with high-end cards is hard to come by.

This card literally chews up any game I throw at it and spits out Ultra Graphics as well as High FPS. My main Monitor 3440x1440 at 144hz as well as my LG CX oled 120hz both love this card as they finally are being used to their full potential. It did have a good amount of coil whine at brand new but the sound has gone down a bit in the few weeks I've owned it. I Initially wanted the 3080ti as I don't need all the vram but seeing as only this 3090 was in stock it'll do. Only gripe I have is with BestBuy not offering their geek squad protection which I had purchased on my last card and tend to purchase on high priced electronics as I like the peace of mind but that's no reason to dock the card itself. Highly recommend the card for gaming.

I didn’t appreciate how big this GPU is until I actually got it. It is massive, absolutely massive. It does a great job at keeping itself cool though, I’ve been playing Elite: Dangerous in VR at max settings (90Hz) and the card barely gets above 65 degrees in an NZXT H510 Elite which is a questionable amount of airflow. No coil whine on the card that I got. Haven’t tried to overclock it yet either.

Very nice enthusiast GPU. It can run everything I play (AC Valhalla, Division 2, COD, Breakpoint, RDR2) with ease at 1440p, ultra settings, and its keeps the FPS above 100. Well, maybe all of them except for Valhalla which runs 70-100 FPS most of the time. Before purchasing, just know this card is HUGE and takes up at least 3 expansion slots. Makes sure your case can accommodate such a large GPU, and also make sure you have an adequate power supply. This card requires two 8 pin PCIe connectors from the PSU which connect to the new 12 pin (if I remember correctly) connector from Nvidia. I would also highly recommend to fork out $15 or $20 for a GPU support to prevent the card from sagging as it is a VERY HEAVY GPU. One gripe I have about this card is the coil whine it produces under load. This is probably the biggest annoyance I have and the whine really isn't very bad (compared to past experiences) but I can still easily hear it, especially in some game menus. Another issue I have is in COD Cold War. This issue probably has to do with something else in my system other than the GPU, but it doesn't have the best performance no matter which settings are selected. It usually displays about 100 FPS, no more and no less. Doing a Google search reveals this issue appeares with 3080 and 3090 cards but it is not a deal breaker for me though.

I would recommend this to a friend
