Tommiegun97, It is possible to upgrade to an i7 processor, according to HP's website this motherboard is compatible with one i7 processor (i7-7700 to be specific). If you are looking to upgrade the cpu, you should know how to access the motherboard info, and find which i7 fits. I don't recall which ones it can handle but I know you can, since I looked into it before buying it, and found d out that MB accepts both. Just be careful, it's not something I recommend for a begginner (since you asked the question I'm guessing you are) since there's so many variables and you can totally ruin the CPU.
