Yes it is possible. The motherboard in this system is the Odense2-K from HP, an LGA 1151 board with an H170 chipset, so you'll be fine with most just about any Kaby Lake chip - if you plan to go with the 7700k and overclock it, however, you may need to plan for a slightly better power supply as well. All that being said, I've been using this computer for several months now and haven't felt the need to upgrade anything aside from additional storage. Note that this board WILL NOT work with Coffee Lake CPUs. While still LGA 1151, Coffee Lake requires a board with a 300 series chipset due to the pinout being electrically different.
