I have 7.1 surround sound system. Not knowing what system you have, I can only answer from my stand point. I ALWAYS Turn the TV Sound to 0. It would interfere with the 7.1 system. I hope this helps you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm using the HDMI/ARC port on my TV. When the tuner is powered on, the TV speakers do get disabled and the tuner/speakers kick in pretty quickly without any configuration. I can select "TV Speakers" which disables the tuner/external speakers. I don't have Roku on this TV, but quite a few apps, and a separate Blu-Ray player. Whether in one of the TV apps, or from the Blu-Ray player - I experience the same behavior. TV speakers or Tuner - never both at the same time. You mentioned "...when I enable the TV speakers, receiver turns off" Does it actually power down the tuner when you enable TV speakers? Or the sound comes through the TV instead of the Tuner?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It really depends on how you have the unit set up with your TV. Are you setting it up through HDMI or eARC on the system? If you are setting it up through eARC, the TV must have an eARC input, not just HMDI. Make sure you are using the right ports and cord from unit to unit, ie: eARC to eARC or HDMI to HDMI, as crossing them may be causing you the problems.
