It uses that term but it's actually as laser light. This is the same type of light in current normal UHD screen televisions. So the Laser Light Source life span is up to 30,000 hours, the same as a regular TV. But this could be many more hours too depending on how often you use it. This is one type of projector you don't have to wrry about bulb life and those type of issues common with traditional projectors.
