The noise is negligible to me as I only notice it during startup and shutdown... Then again, I have 7.1 surround speakers at medium to loud volumes as a matter of course, so I may not be the best judge.... I LOVE this projector. Picture is light years better than the old Sony Black Pearl projector that it replaced (I swapped bulbs yearly, but it still had become unwatchable)... The only caveat I will give is to make sure you are using HIGH quality HDMI cables or it won't pass a signal. My 10 year old 50 ft. HDMI cable in the ceiling wouldn't pass any signal, and a brand new 50 ft. 4K Insignia cable didn't work either... I finally got it to work with a 25' 4K Insignia cable after rearranging some things, but I still get intermittent signal dropouts that require me to restart my Marantz SR5010 4K AV Receiver in order to clear the issue.. My only remorse is that the cables they give the Geek Squad install guys are not up to the task.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I upgraded from the hd141x and the difference is night and day. I sit where it's above my head about 8 feet and don't hear it at all. Even when you shut it off and it goes into high mode, you can hardly tell. It's definitely worth the upgrade :).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Almost nonexistent. Where it is set, is directly above my head when I'm on my couch in my great room. About 5 feet above me, and unless there's absolutely no noise in the room, I can't hear it. Even the small air purifier in my great room, if it's running, renders this silent. I came from a Viewsonic PRO8530HDL that was a jet engine compared to this. Love the sound level for this one.
