The case does not protect the phone from water. It may improve the chances of surviving some light rain but it will do nothing to protect a phone from being submerged in water. All new iPhones, from iPhone 7 and newer, are water resistant and can handle being dunked into water briefly, some models are more resistant than others but defender pro is NOT waterproof.

Although it does all of that it’s not a waterproof case, but most phones today are waterproof. I recommend this to anyone wanting the maximum protection for their device.
