No it isn't waterproof. Yes you need a screen saver. I've got a indestructible liquid Screensaver I bought from Verizon. It is phenomenal protects from breakage and you can't scratch it.

Some of the Otterbox cases have the screen protector included. This series does not. You have to buy one if you need one.

The phone itself is waterproof.Not the case.The S10 has a built on screen protector not this case. The only case for this one with a screen protector is life proof but it effects the finger scanner.

the case is not water proof and does not come with a screen protector. The S 10 is water resistant.
