The sides have some grip. The back is slippery. If you want a grip case you should buy Speck Presidio V Grip. Slightly thicker though.

The case does not have any grip “areas” so you can hold it by. It’s practical and convenient to carry on you, but it is smooth all around.

I had the same question too. So far the edge is really holding onto my hand. It has a raised lip which helps me hold on.

Yes, it’s a smooth case like all other clear cases, but it has some grip. I preferred this case because it was the only one I found with grip. The grip is on the front edges of the phone where your fingers grip it. If you face it with screen down on a table it grips. Even though the back is the smooth part I’m still able to grip it without slipping from my hands.
