The Metra dash kit is the trim kit that physically holds the radio in the OEM vehicle dash opening... Typically a plastic trim piece that matches your dash contours, and a pair of metal brackets to hold the new radio to the existing screw holes.

Why don't you email the Tec at Best Buy and ask him, because I brought 

items that they didn't need when it was installed.
