“Don't want to use the trim kit for this microwave. My question is whether this 2.2 cu. ft. model can be used as a built-in? Cabinet interior measures 28" W x 14 1/2" H x 24" D. Is that sufficient cubic area for the microwave to still vent properly?”

The venting is on the rear of the unit, and because of the high power, it probably requires more air flow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is recommended to install the unit in a cabinet by using the proper trim kit for it. For proper operation, the oven must have sufficient air flow. Allow 3-inches (7.6 cm) of space on both sides of the oven and 1-inch (2.5 cm) of space on top of the oven. It is import to not cover the vents.
