Q: QuestionA little confused about “upscaling”, streaming, 4k Ultra HD, etc… I’m looking for a Blu Ray player that plays 4K Blu-ray Discs. I have a 4k Blu-ray movie that will not play on a regular DVD player. Will this player play it? Can you explain upscaling etc.

• A:Answer This model will play 4K Blu Ray dvds. The first answer here was incorrect. To see the 4K resolution, it must be connected to a 4K resolution TV. Up-scaling a normal 2K Blu Ray dvd is possible if the settings are set to enable it. Normal dvds may be up-scaled to 1080p.

To resolve the issue with your Blu-ray player, please follow these steps: ensure that your Blu-ray player's firmware is up to date, make sure your Blu-ray player is properly connected to the internet. Test the connection by using another app that requires internet access, uninstall and reinstall the app on your Blu-ray player. Restart the player to see if the issue persists. If the problem persists, perform a factory reset for your player by following these steps: turn the unit on, press and hold the [OPEN/CLOSE] button on the main unit and the [0] button on the remote control simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. "00 RET" will be displayed on the unit’s display. Press the right arrow button on the remote control repeatedly until "08 FIN" is displayed on the unit’s display. Then, press and hold the [OK] button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds. We hope this helps! -C

• A:Answer Thank you for your question! the DP-UB154P player does not support playback of AVCHD and MPEG2 video files that have been simply dragged and dropped or copied and pasted onto a disc or USB drive. For AVCHD and MPEG2 videos to be playable, they need to be authored and burned in a specific way that the player recognizes as a standard format. -M
