Yes - Turn off "Economy" mode for battery and/or AC in the menu and the camera will stay on as long it has power. Take a look at page 35 of the advanced owners manual for more info: http://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/HC-WX970PP/OI/sqw0239/sqw0239.pdf I've had mine on for a full day of video conferences and streaming.

The primary circuit is always “live” as long as the AC adaptor is connected to an electrical outlet. Important: Do not use the AC adaptor/DC cable with any other equipment as it is designed only for this unit. Also, do not use the AC adaptor/DC cable from other equipment with this unit. The battery will not be charged if the unit is turned on. It is recommended to charge the battery in a temperature between 10 oC and 30 oC (50 oF and 86 oF). (The battery temperature should also be the same.) Please make sure that Economy and Battery Economy are set to ON.
