A:AnswerThis is a difficult question to answer because there are several things to think about:
1. Does it let you use the handsets to make calls using your cell phone service and to receive calls using your cell phone service?
Yes, it does that. A little wonky to set up, but not difficult. The steps are clearly listed, and it works.
2. Does this let your answer machine on the the main unit or your cell phone to record messages from unanswered calls?
No, it does not. The unit is not designed to do that, and I'm sure there are various technical reasons why this was not implemented in the technology, but the main unit is physically incapable of "hearing" a cell phone service to accept a voice message from a caller. And as an added twist, your cell phone will also not record a voice message from someone who tried to call you but left a message.
So caveat emptor!
Unfortunately, for those of us who bought this for this very reason - this isn't something clearly specified in the available pre-sale literature.
A:AnswerHi there! Yes, you can enable the "Ring as Cell" feature to know which cell line a call is coming from. Once this is set to "On," the handset and base unit will use the same ringer tone as your cellular phone. This needs to be enabled for both connected cell phones. - S
A:AnswerHi Georgia! Yes, the talking caller ID can be turned off, and the caller announcement can also be disabled. While this particular model does not include a headset jack. We do have models that support headset connections. For a 4-handset system with a headset jack, we recommend looking at the KX-TG994SK or KX-TGF944. - S

A:AnswerHi Candy! An open box product means the original packaging has been opened, but the item itself is usually in excellent condition and fully functional. It may have been returned, inspected, or used for display purposes and is not sold as brand new. Please note that open box items do not come with a manufacturer’s warranty, so it’s important to consider this when making your purchase. - S
A:AnswerHello! As the phone system was not tested for this type of usage, only with a landline connection, we encourage you to check directly with the telephone service provider for information. Please note that if you encounter issues with the sound or related to Caller ID services when using VoIP, the phone may require a DSL/ADSL filter to be installed on the line by your telephone service provider. - S
A:AnswerHello Mike! This landline phone system requires a wired connection to work, you can connect it with a wire to your modem as long as it is properly configured by the provider. Hope this helps! - F

A:AnswerEach handset has volume control and the ability to announce caller ID, ring when called and have the live audio for the caller leaving a message. If you can't hear the live audio or caller ID, the volume for the handset is turned to full minimum/off. This can be adjusted while a message is being left, while the unit is ringing or in settings while the system is idle.
