• Hello, Annie! The telephone line connects to the base unit, not the charging units. You can use your existing telephone cable to connect the base unit to the telephone line, as long as it has the standard RJ11 connectors. Additionally, the charging units for the cordless handsets only need power from an electrical outlet and are not connected to the telephone line. -C
