I don't know if it's the same model I purchased but the pound sign usually does not delete messages. It skips them for later. I just go to the answering machine base and click "Erase".

Hello! Thank you for contacting us. That message indicates that you have a voicemail message left by a caller or a greeting on the line. As voicemail is a service offered by your telephone company, which is your service provider, please contact them to listen to that message. Furthermore, we advise turning off the Voicemail tone detection and in order to do this, please take a handset, press MENU, then the key # and enter code 332. Then, you will need to choose the OFF option and press SAVE to save the option. After this, you can press the OFF button. Hope this helps! -C
