I am really glad that we bought the new panasonic phone. It is so easy to block unwanted call, even as the phone is ringing. I have not discovered what else it can do for us yet. It was a great improvement over the other phone of the same brand.

Yes, the 2 extra bases are chargers that plug into regular electrical plugs, only the base, the one with answering machine, needs to be plugged into phone jack and electrical outlet
