• According to the 100+ page instruction book it is possible to never activate this feature. The announcement was the default on my phone because I have carrier-provided caller ID (a requirement for the feature to work). The instruction book has a graphic suggesting the announcement feature can be turned off, but does not explicitly say so. This phone is feature-laden, but I am not enough of a nerd to use 99% of this phone's features.
