You can switch between the base unit and your headset: during a landline call with the base unit, during an intercom call between the base unit and handset and while listening to messages recorded on the base unit answering system. It is possible to switch to your headset by pressing the Headset button on the base unit. To switch back to the base unit, lift the corded handset to talk with the corded handset or press the Speakerphone button. Hope this helps! -C
