• Hard to say. If you had another phone hooked up to it that doesn't do that at all, there may be something wrong with the phone.

• Hello! If the unit cannot receive caller information, ''Out of area'' is displayed. This appears when the caller dials from an area which does not provide a Caller ID service. If the unit is connected to a PBX system, caller information may not be properly received. We encourage you to contact your PBX supplier. -C
