Hello Bill! The camera comes with a rechargeable battery. The operating time may vary depending on the settings you use and the quality of the recorded images. The available recording time when filming in AVCHD and MP4 Full HD is approximately 90 minutes, and for MP4 4K recording it is approximately 80 minutes. When using the monitor, you can take approximately 300 still pictures with one charge and about 220 pictures when using the viewfinder. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. So far the weather has kept me indoors. Only taken a few pictures of a renovation of a drug store across the street. Lots of scrap metal and a huge dumpster so I found it interesting. I also like having a macro setting to copy things. The plastic lens that comes with the camera is an issue. Do not take it to the extremes on the telephoto part. The lens available are way to expensive. I would suggest a range of 35mm to 105mm. That does give you the ability to do portraits down the road.
