Hi! This unit is capable of checking the firmware automatically when connected to the Internet via a broadband connection. When a new firmware version is available, a message will pop up, displaying information on the new update. However, if the unit is not connected to the internet, the latest firmware version can be downloaded from the following link https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/bd/download/ub420/ub420_us.html -G
