• Yes it can play regular region 1 DVDs (North America). It has two HDMI out in the back. One with audio/video the other just audio. I just use the audio/video and don't have them separate.

You can find the playable media here: http://help.panasonic.ca/PCS/OperatingInstructions/TQBS0233_Eng.pdf#page=6 On the back of the unit there are AC in, HDMI AUDIO OUT terminal , HDMI VIDEO OUT terminal, LAN port , USB port and DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal (OPTICAL terminal).
