• Do any disc players do this? Every TV from the past several years has several built-in 'zoom' functions. So, use those. I see no such options in the player's manual.

• Letterbox provides the movie in its proper aspect ratio. If you changed it to fill up the screen then you are losing part of the movie on the sides and possibly the top.
