“I've seen a few reviews here that the extension they got is not compatible with their light strip. I'm not sure if my light strip is a new generation or not but the model is LST002. does anyone know if this is compatible with this extension or not?”

No -- this extension is not compatible with the 2nd generation lightstrip. I'm not sure if a 3rd gen (v3) extension would work with a 2nd gen or not.
