You wouldn't be able to take the clips/guides off and immediately reattach them to something else, you would need to replace the double sided tape which is pretty simple overall if you ever had to move them.

It comes with 5 clips total, (3 Straight and 2 Corner Pieces). The clips can be used on pretty much any surface I'd say; they're very sticky. You can even pull them off a few times and re-stick them if you decide to move it. But they will lose their stickiness eventually if you keep Re-removing them.
