Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can leave the 3 hdmi inputs plugged into your receiver. You can connect the sync box on the HDMI out of your receiver and just just use 1 of the hdmi inputs on the sync box
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same set up. Works great. I put the box in between the receiver's hdmi out and the input on the tv.

It's compatible in regards to passing the signal through for any HDMI signal, however, the product does not support all the HDR formats which mean until a firmware update that may never come, it may not pass the unsupported signal through but if it does pass the unsupported signal though it will definitely not work with the lights for the unsupported hdr signal, meaning you spent over $200.00 for a paperweight when you watch certain HDR movies like Dolby vision. And the product still doe snot support letterbox, meaning almost all movies will not work with the lights when a letterbox movie is played meaning black bars on the top and bottom. The only lights that will work are mid-level. I know this sounds like a lot of problems but Phillips didn't fully complete this product before selling it, let's hope they give us some major firmware updates over the next few months. 2. I'm thinking between the tv and the receiver to make things simple for you but that may through off sync, not sure you would need to test it. Alternatively, you could put it before the receiver as it has many inputs but you would need to use the app to switch between your different inputs on the box instead of using the receiver to switch between different inputs, if there is an audio sync issue with option 1 then use this option. 3. This is my setup but I only have 1 source of video. Roku ultra>Philips sync box>Receiver>TV. This is basically option 2. You didn't mention your video source. >>LASTLY if you watch tv via apps on your TV this Philips sync box device will not work for you at all. Until TVs start outputting video from the apps via an HDMI output (unlikely) You have no way to get the signal from the app on your tv to the Phillips sync box. Said differently you need a ROKU, or blu-ray player or PlayStation, or fire stick. If you found this info useful google my nickname for kicks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These "listen" to the music using the included module. They do not directly connect to any source to react to sound
