• You have to make sure the clip on the back is inserted, then gently close it you will hear it click in. Also hiding that this razor is not very sharp often have to go over my face several times to clear up everything using shaving cream because it is all wet dry does seem to help just an average electric razor. What is electric razors you get what you pay for pricewise

• Mine closes ok. After using, I clean inside shaver with soft tissue or water if I use it wet. Snaps shut ok. Possibly your shaver is defective.
