• Yes, 16 gauge will work for short runs. I use standard lamp cord or zip cord bought at hardware store off a spool. It's cheaper, way thicker & is perfect for runs longer than 20 feet. Oh & a manual isn't needed. The back of the SP-SF52 Tower speaker has it's specs and info listed on a tag. ~ peace
