I have them connected to the receiver through the optical cable port and use a splitter to connect them to the optical port of my LG OLED TV. The TV is turned down to 0 for listening to the Pioneer system, which is generally all I ever do, and sound is still heard in the headphones with or without the receiver being turned on.
