“When I searched for noise cancelling or sound isolation these headphones came up, however in the product description I do not see that they are, can anyone tell me if they are noise cancelling or provide sound isolation”

No, they are not isolating or noise cancelling. They do not seal to your ear so you can definitely hear ambient noise. That's great for safety if you're running or walking in public, but these would not be a good choice for a noisy environment like an airplane.
