You can stream 4K movies online, just make sure you have the correct bandwidth and speed needed to enjoy it . Downloading a 4K movie would be a challenge , we're talking about a 90 GB download file . 90 . GB . Download .For just ONE movie . This is why I find the lack of a 4K blu ray player so puzzling.

Bandwidth for 4k movies could be a problem for some people trying to stream 4k. Many people also have better experience with video and audio quality off disk as opposed to streaming.

Please try again later.Yeah the only reason sony optioned out of that drive is to keep the cost down and because ps4 games wont ever go to that format they'll continue to use regular BRays so whats the point of it not many UHD movies are selling.. that will be a while til that takes off..but yeah anything that is streamed will be 4k pretty much. I know netflix and youtube are so im sure others will follow soon.. hope this answers your question
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any content purchased via the PSN and any content viewed via streaming apps in 4K via the PS4 Pro - aka netflix - hulu - etc will display in 4K. Just not any disc inserted into the bluray drive. Redbox will want to cater to XBOX customers from this point forward yes lol. But if you want the best games in 4K, PS4 Pro will be leading the way for years.

I think it's a great idea simply because I don't know anyone willing to spend $40 on a UHD DVD and its the main reason why the PS4 pro was able to remain at the $399 price range. The UHD DVD's are just too expensive and as much as it would have been nice to have, it's honestly pointless right now to care so much about it because honestly I don't think other than being able to say you have a UHD disk player the majority of people aren't going to spend the money on it buying high price UHD DVD's.

The deception by xbox supporters make it seem like 4K UHD drives are something relevant for gaming or movies overall but it is really insignificant because most people only stream their movies and don't even own a 4K movie disk for it to matter
