If it is the Dell M5040 with the c-50 1.0 ghz cpu. You would need the ddr3L ram (1.35v) ram. Not this 1.5v ram. However.... if it is the c50 1ghz cpu model additional ram would not really help it much, it's a very very slow budget machine. Anything over 4gb of ram total would probably be a waist of money.
