Yes, 2 players can actively play this game. They are both able to catch Pokemon and participate in battles. What the second player isn't able to do is interact with anything while walking around the map. They are able to walk around, just not talk to people like the first player would be able to do.

Two players can play the game, you can battle opponents and catch pokemon together. I have an account under my name, and my husband has one under his name on the switch. We like playing the game better as single players, but two can play it. More of a tag team with two.

You can play with two players using two separate joy-cons. For certain parts of the game such as catching rarer Pokémon and getting through tough battles, you can use a second player to provide support and have 2 v 1 battles against the computer. It's really fun!

And yes, you can make multiple accounts as long as there are multiple profiles on your Switch.

Yes. You can play on the same screen with another person. You just shake one of the other controllers and anyone else signed in with an account will pop on screen. I'm not sure how it works if there is more than 2 people, but for my wife and I it is seamless and we both have Pokemon Go and Nintendo accounts of our own. This was, in fact, a big selling point for her and I. It works quite well. My only complaint is that the camera only follows one character so you can go off screen and it does not pan out the camera. I could see this being a problem if two kids were trying to play together; aside from that, it is a really nice, well implemented feature.

Yes, a second person can enter the game. The second controller will be able to join the battles and also help throwing the pokeballs for combo points that seem to make catching easier. However the progress and pokemons are tied to the main account, the only thing a second person does it make it easier (the battles become 2x1)

Together you explore the Kanto region and you’ll double battle NPC Trainers throughout the story or even collaborate and catch Pokemon together. You don’t need multiple accounts to do this.

Yes you can play with 2 players and you dont have to have multiple accounts. The multiplayer concept is like a drop in drop out style and player 2 just need to shake the other joycon to jump in or jump out once 1st player have at least 2 pokemon on their team.

I have not used the two player feature yet but on the box the SD card came it says for 1 or 1-2 players. You also have the capabilities to play with local network players and online players if you have the paid Nintendo switch account which is bang for you buck. In regards to your multiple accounts, I am completely unsure. There are tons of resources online which I have been using so I would just go to Google and find out from a blog post or other a Youtube Video.

-Catching pokemon, 2nd player can throw their own pokeball, increasing in catch rate and greatly increase EXP multiplier
-Battling, it turns into a 2v1 pokemon battle oppose to a normal 1v1. 2nd player will use the 2nd pokemon in your 6-party roster.
