• No. The H7 communicates via Bluetooth Smart, so the old wrist watches won't read the signal. The upside is that the H7 has a user-serviceable battery, and there are a bunch of smart phone apps and exercise machines that will read and display the signal.

• The H7 communicates both on both the Bluetooth frequency, making it compatible with fitness apps running on your mobile device, as well as Polar's 5 kHz 'coded' frequency which allows it to work with older Polar units and exercise equipment found at your local gym. - Mike@PolarUSA
