Do you mean extra speakers? No you don't and you can't really add speakers unless your going to use a receiver. This puts out virtual surround sound by using the 6 speakers that are in the main unit. It's basically meant to be experienced the way it is out of the box (after setup, of course).

This will work great if you have the perfect environment meaning a squared room. That's how these type of bars work. They reflect sound of the walls to simulate surround sound
