no, you can not directly hook your turntable up to speakers. Firstly, turntables have what's called RIAA equilization. The phono input of a receiver or integrated amplifier decode this equilization so it sounds correct; if you just plug your turntable into a regular RCA port, it will sound off with very thing bass and highs. What you will need is either a Receiver, Preamp, or integrated amp with a PHONO stage, or you will need to buy a stand alone PHONO PRE AMP. WIth a phono pre amp you could then connect the turn table to any powered speakers that you'd like. Hope this helps Chris LeChien www.crlaudiosolutions.com
