The adjustment holes along the front where the J hooks hang are 2-cm in diameter, or about 0.8 inch. The horizontal posts for hanging weights are 4.8 cm or 1.9 inches, meant for weights that have 2-inch holes. We are not sure what you mean by having the rack be expandable because of the hole size.
