• There is padding on the handle bars. Not cushy-soft, but typical for gym equipment - easy to clean

• They are padded, but I would not purchase this bike. After 2 months of waiting to get the bike; I finally received it last week. I put the bike together and the screen would not turn on. I returned the bike this week for a refund. Look for a better quality bike.
