  • QuestionCan I split a signal from an Amazon Fire Stick to simultaneously go to both my TV and Hard-drive to record the program?

    Asked by Hg.

    • Answer The PHDMMF3 is designed to split a single HDMI output to two display devices, such as two TVs or monitors. However, it is a passive splitter cable and was not designed for recording applications. If you're connecting an Amazon Fire Stick, the video signal may appear on both the TV and a recorder, but most streaming services use HDCP copy protection. Because of that, a hard-drive recorder typically will not be able to record protected content from a Fire Stick, even if a splitter is used. For recording, you would generally need a dedicated HDMI capture device that supports your equipment and recording workflow rather than the PHDMMF3 splitter cable.
