• It does out the box pick up background noise if it's loud enough. If a person is 5ft from the microphone talking normally, it will faintly pick up their voice.

• Yes. Although Seiren Mini has a smaller pickup range, which means it primarily picks up the user's voice, background noise are filtered out like typing and mouse clicks.
